Here is a Lionel 224E Die-Cast 2-6-2 Steam Locomotive. It features a die cast body, motor, 3-position E-unit, metal side rods, operating headlight, metal wheels and axles. It was not manufactured with a smoke unit. This is the gun metal version. No tender is included.

Brought onto the scene in the late 19th century and continuing use into the early 20th century, the 2-6-2 was a durable little model with some even surviving through the first World War seeing continued use in smaller capacities. These models were used for a variety of purposes from hauling coal loads to pulling smaller passenger cars. The North American model soon became known as the "Prairie" model and would quickly become a favorite in rail-yards around the world!

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-5: Good based on visual appearance. The locomotive has rust spots on the shell, chassis, couplers, trucks, and wheels. There are major blemishes in the paint on the shell. Some of the trim pieces are missing. This item will not run when tested. The load on the tender is warped. the shell, chassis, trucks, wheels, and couplers have all rusted. Some of the trim pieces are warped. The instruction manuals are not included. The original boxes are not included. Overall condition is Good.
